This project, undertaken within the Industrial Design Studio 1 course, centered on the design of a portable Bluetooth speaker featuring three speaker units and an integrated charger. The studio emphasized a hardcore, conceptual approach to product design, encouraging innovative solutions and pushing the boundaries of traditional speaker design. The project involved extensive research into benchmarking existing products, material and manufacturing processes, internal mechanisms for optimal sound quality, and user activities to ensure a design that caters to real-world usage scenarios
Task
My contribution encompassed the complete design process, from initial research and ideation to 3D modeling and virtual assembly. I designed the Bluetooth speaker, meticulously considering its functionality, aesthetics, and user interaction. This involved creating detailed 3D models of individual components, including the three speaker units and integrated charger, and assembling them into a cohesive digital prototype. The project highlighted the importance of a user-centered design approach and the integration of multiple functionalities within a single, portable device.
